I’m a network marketing with an awesome company called Arbonne. I have been with Arbonne for many years now and I always wonder how some people see the opportunity and become really successful in the industry and others quit and say this industry does not work.
Both types of people are part of the same company, are under the same compensation plan, have access to the same training and products, the only variable I can see is the person. People are different because our thinking is different and when I dig down deep, it’s always down to belief.
Why is Belief Important?
The power of belief resides in its ability to do four things:
Belief creates vision.
Belief creates strength of will.
Belief creates resilience.
Belief ignites and activates.
What you believe drives what you do, and what you do determines what you achieve. When your belief is strong, you perform smarter, better, and with greater resilience. This is true everywhere: business, athletics, education, and personal relationships.
What you believe either empowers you or it limits you. Empowering beliefs pull your performance up; limiting beliefs pull your performance down. This is especially true under competitive pressure or in response to challenging situations.
So what are you believing right now about yourself, your circumstances and your opportunities.
The law of your mind is the law of belief itself
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
I read the book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy a few years ago and I completely agree with most of what he says. I find a lot of our belief are due to our subconscious mind.
The first half of the book is the best, as it explains how the subconscious works. The second half deals with its role and power to transform in areas like marriage, human relations, scientific discovery, sleep, fear, forgiveness and ‘eternal youth’.
In the book Murphy saw the subconscious mind as a darkroom within which we develop the images that are to be lived out in real life.
While the conscious mind sees an event, takes a picture of it and remembers it, the subconscious mind works backwards, ‘seeing’ something before it happens.
The subconscious responds to habit and habitual thinking. Being totally neutral in a moral sense, it is happy to adopt any habit as ‘normal’ – good or bad. We casually let negative thoughts drop into the subconscious every minute of our lives, then are surprised when they find expression in day to day experiences and relationships. While there are some things that will happen to us that we had no role in creating, these are in fact rare. Mostly, the bad that happens is in us already, waiting for the light of day.
Understanding your subconscious mind as a photographic mechanism removes the emotion and struggle from changing your life, because if it is simply a matter of replacing existing mental images with new ones, you begin to see the ease with which you may change.
Can using The Law of Attraction help with my Belief?
The law of attraction is a method of positive thinking that allows you to manifest thoughts, ideas, or concepts in your life into reality. The method works by using your conscious and subconscious thinking to allow you to notice and take responsibility of opportunities that come your way.
The main ideas in the video below comes from the book “The Secret” written by Rhonda Byrne which explains the Law of Attraction for those who wish to use it in their financial life, their relationships, their careers, and all other aspects of their life to achieve success.
A Final Thought
In all the old rituals of ancient times, with their weird mixtures and incantations, it was the power of suggestion and acceptance in the subconscious mind that healed. Even today, doctors report the power of placebos to produce miraculous recoveries if accompanied by doubt-free instructions that ‘this will do the trick’. Miracles of healing, Dr Joseph Murphy says, are simply the body’s obeying of the subconscious mind’s knowledge of ‘perfect health’ when the questioning nature of the normal conscious mind is silenced.
What we believe makes us who we are. William James observed that whatever people expect to be true, will be so, irrespective of whether the object of their belief exists in fact. Whatever you give your subconscious – false or true, good or evil – it will register as fact. Be careful not to joke about misfortune, as the subconscious has no sense of humour.
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
